Meet Katrina Burgoyne, a passionate Australian singer-songwriter whose musical journey ignited amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Australian outback at the tender age of 9, setting a personal goal to learn the guitar and sing around the campfire. Growing up in Gunnedah, NSW, just an hour away from Australia's Country Music Capital, Tamworth, Katrina's roots are deeply embedded in the rich tapestry of country music. It was in this vibrant setting that she first hit the stage at the age of 11, foreshadowing the remarkable career that lay ahead.
Establishing herself as a professional full-time musician for over 17 years, Katrina embarked on a prolific career that took her halfway around the world. Her journey began with the release of her debut album in 2011, achieving 2 Golden Guitar Awards, 3 Top 10 Australian Country singles, and a Top 10 ARIA charting album for her debut album "White Flag."
Now a proud resident of Nashville, USA, moving stateside in 2017, Katrina continues to shine brightly in the country music scene. With over 70 published works and a history of hitting milestones such as four top 10 singles, 4 CMAA nominations and having a writer's share in Australian & UK top 10 charting albums, she stands as a testament to her enduring talent and unwavering dedication. Her songs, embraced by audiences across three continents and four countries, showcase the universal appeal of her music.
Katrina spent the past year (2022) in Nashville, crafting a sound that draws inspiration from her early musical passions. Here, she meticulously shaped a sound inspired by her early musical passions. Collaborating with her producer husband, Steve Kinney, they discovered a shared influence in the renowned producer Mutt Lange. Steve's love for 80's rock and Katrina's admiration for her childhood idol, Shania Twain, converged seamlessly. Together, their mission is unequivocal: to craft positive, uptempo, feel-good songs destined to resonate in stadiums. Reflecting on this transformative artistic journey, Katrina expresses, "I feel like I'm right back at the beginning but finally arrived, if that makes sense. For so long, I've chased trends and tried to anticipate what people want me to write. However, by testing all my new songs live and witnessing people smiling, singing along, and connecting with my quirks, I've become the most fulfilled artist I've ever been."
As Katrina looks toward the future, her goal remains steadfast: to leave an indelible legacy as the first Australian female artist to make a significant impact in the American country music genre over the past three decades.
